There are ambassadors in the Sixth Form led by Senior Ambassadors and Deputy Ambassadors. These students are nominated by staff and then apply to be a Student Ambassador. The candidates for Senior Ambassadors are then interviewed by the Principal and selected based on their performance.
Student Ambassadors will meet regularly to ensure that students’ voices are heard and any issues are communicated to the Senior Leadership Team.
Student ambassadors have played a pivotal role in the displays around the Academy and in the community projects that Brinsworth Academy have been involved with.
The Sixth Form student leadership team work closely with the Head of Sixth Form to ensure the Sixth Form provides the best possible provision for all learners. The students’ opinions are incredibly important to us here at Brinsworth Academy.
“Being a student ambassador is great for improving coordination and leadership skills. It allows us to connect with other students on another level and bring their suggestions to the SLT. It also means we are the students who can make a difference to the academy based on what it is the students want, such as organising charity events and fundraisers that bring the academy together. As an ambassador, being given the trust to work as teachers do to help students is an amazing opportunity that few Academies offer. The benefits of being an ambassador far outweigh the duties and being one of the select few whose purpose is to make a difference is a privilege.”
