KS2-3 Transition

KS2-3 Transition

Moving Up

We work with a range of primary schools in years 4, 5 and 6 within the area to ensure that we offer quality transition from KS2 to KS3. Early transition to Brinsworth Academy allows our students the time to continue to progress at the end of the academic year and helps youngsters to adapt to learning at the Academy. Students who are currently in year 6 will begin attending Brinsworth Academy on Monday 9th July 2018. We offer a range of activities in primary schools and at the Academy including Humanities, Modern Foreign Languages, Physical Education, Music and Art.

Student leaders also visit primary schools to develop positive relationships, speak to students about what to expect at the Academy and to work in small groups to discuss current topics. The year 5/6 open evening is an opportunity to meet staff and students and to begin to explore the curriculum at the Academy.

Our open evening in September 2017 was very successful and many parents attended. We offer the opportunity for parents and students to vist at any time throughout the year. If you are interested, do not hesitate to contact us.

We are pleased that we are the first choice for so many parents and students and are already working to ensure that transition is enjoyable and stress free.

I am Helen Hardisty and lead transition from KS2 and KS3. It is very important to us at the Academy that parents and students have a positive experience as youngsters move into year 7 and onwards.
